    Itinerary

  • DAY 1 - Bhutan - Arrival Day

    • Upon arrival in Bhutan, you will head towards Thimphu post. On the way to Thimphu, you will cross the Iron Chain Bridge, which is a small break to familiarize you with the weather outside. After your arrival in Thimphu, you will check in at your hotel. You will relax and freshen up for a bit, post which you will visit the Clock Tower, which has 4 clock faces and is a famous landmark in Thimphu. There are plenty of shops, hotels and restaurants around the square. It is located near Norzin Lam and the national football stadium in the centre of the capital. Overnight stay at your hotel in Thimphu.
  • DAY 2 - Sightseeing in Thimphu

    • Post breakfast, you will proceed for sightseeing in and around Thimphu. You will visit the following places: Sangaygang: You will drive further up to Sangaygang to enjoy a stunning view of the Thimphu Valley. Also visit the BBS Tower, which is located North West of the Thimphu Valley. Changangkha Lhakhang: The Changangkha Lhakhang Temple is an ancient Buddhist temple. Kuenselphodrang: The Kuenselphodrang (Buddha Point) has the largest statue of the Buddha in the country. From here, you will enjoy a great view of the Thimphu Valley on both sides. National Memorial: The National Memorial Chorten in Thimphu is beautifully built in typical Buddhist architecture. Overnight stay in a hotel in Thimphu.
  • DAY 3 - Thimphu Day excursion (Dochula Pass)

    • Post breakfast you will set out for a day excursion to the Dochula Pass. On a sunny day, you can get breath-taking views of the Himalayan ranges. Admire the 108 Druk Wangyal Chortens (stupas) that were built here. After you are done with lunch, drive back to Thimphu. Other places that you will visit are the Punakha Dzong and the Weekend Market. The Punakha Dzhong lies at the confluence of the 2 rivers, Mo Chhu and the Pho Chhu. The Weekend Market is highly recommended for those wanting to experience the local Bhutanese culture and daily life. Plenty of budget-friendly ornamental goods are available on sale here (It is advisable to visit the market with a guide). Overnight stay at a hotel in Punakha.
  • DAY 4 - Punakha – Paro

    • After a scrumptious breakfast, you will drive towards Paro. Before you reach Paro, visit the Chimi Lhakhang, a Buddhist monastery in Punakha District. In the evening you will proceed to various high points and magnificent spots where you will stop for a while to take in the beauty. Post that, visit a local market of Paro to shop for souvenirs like hand-woven textiles, carved masks of various animals, woven baskets, wooden bowls known as Dapas, handmade paper products or intricately crafted silver goods.
  • DAY 5 - Paro (Hike Tiger's Nest)

    • After an early morning breakfast, drive towards Paro and proceed for a morning hike up to the Taktsang Monastery, also known as the Tiger's Nest, which is one of the most spiritually significant monuments of the nation. It rests perilously on a steep cliff and gives some amazing views. After the hike, you will visit Kyichu Lhakhang. The Jowo Temple which is here is one of the oldest temples in the whole of Bhutan. Overnight stay at a hotel in Paro.
  • DAY 6 - Departure from Bhutan

    • After an early breakfast, you will transfer to the Paro Airport for your onward destination. If you have opted for Phuntsoling exit, then early in the morning you will be leaving for the border transit.
