Itinerary

Upon your arrival at Varanasi Airport or Railway Station, our driver will greet you and assist with your transfer to the hotel. We recommend scheduling your arrival by mid-morning (around 10–11 AM) to make the most of the day. After check-in and freshening up, begin your tour with an excursion to Sarnath, the sacred site where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon after attaining enlightenment at Bodhgaya. Later, return to Varanasi and embark on a temple tour including visits to the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Kashi Vishalakshi Devi Temple, and Mata Annapurna Temple. Explore the spiritual charm of the ancient Ganga Ghats and conclude your day by witnessing the soul-stirring Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat. Optional boat ride on the Ganges is available at your own expense. Return to the hotel for an overnight stay in Varanasi.

After an early breakfast, drive to Bodhgaya, the place where Gautama Buddha attained enlightenment under the sacred Bodhi Tree. Upon arrival, check-in to your hotel and rest briefly. In the late afternoon, visit the iconic Mahabodhi Temple Complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and spend time at the revered Bodhi Tree. You may also explore nearby Buddhist monasteries representing various countries. Please note that local sightseeing in the temple zone is allowed only via electric rickshaws, which can be hired on a direct payment basis. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay in Bodhgaya.

After breakfast, begin a full-day excursion to explore key Buddhist and historical sites in Rajgir and Nalanda. First, visit Gehlore, the hometown of Dashrath Manjhi, known as the “Mountain Man.” Proceed to Rajgir, a place of great significance in Buddha’s life. Visit the World Peace Pagoda, hot water springs, and see the Gridhakuta Parvat (Vulture’s Peak), where Buddha delivered several sermons. En route, view the ruins of Bimbisar Jail. Later, head to Nalanda University ruins, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the world’s oldest centers of learning. After sightseeing, return to Bodhgaya for overnight stay.

After an early breakfast, check out from your hotel and drive back to Varanasi. Upon arrival, our representative will drop you at the Varanasi Airport or Railway Station for your onward journey. Your Varanasi–Bodhgaya Tour concludes with divine blessings and unforgettable memories.

Good

We recently booked a 7-day/6-night tour package with Colors of India for the Delhi–Rishikesh–Manali trip, and it turned out to be an amazing experience! A big shoutout to Mr. Rohit shokta, who meticulously organized the trip and ensured everything went smoothly. One incident that stood out was when I lost my bag during the trip. Mr. Rohit went above and beyond to help me recover it from the place it was left behind. His genuine care and prompt action were truly commendable. The trip itself was fantastic! I traveled with my parents to show them snow-capped peaks for the very first time, and they had an absolute blast. They explored and enjoyed every moment of the journey. We covered around 2500 kilometers by car, but thanks to our incredibly kind and professional driver, we never felt tired. His driving skills and hospitality added to the comfort and joy of our journey. Thank you, Colors of India, for making this trip so memorable, especially during the peak season of late December and New Year. The package was not only affordable but also exceeded our expectations in every way. Highly recommended! 🌟
