Overview
Embark on a deeply spiritual and culturally enriching 5-day pilgrimage through two of India’s most sacred and historically significant cities — Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Rama, and Varanasi, the city of Lord Shiva. This thoughtfully curated journey invites you to walk in the footsteps of saints, sages, and deities, offering an immersive experience steeped in devotion, mythological significance, and age-old traditions. Begin your journey in Ayodhya, the legendary city of Lord Ram and a cornerstone of the Ramayana. In Ayodhya, divine tales come alive as you visit the magnificent Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir, along with other sacred landmarks such as Hanuman Garhi, Kanak Bhawan, and Sita Ki Rasoi. Soak in the tranquility of Guptar Ghat, believed to be the place of Lord Ram’s departure to Vaikuntha, and feel the spiritual aura that pervades this ancient city. Continue your spiritual quest to Varanasi, one of the world’s oldest continuously inhabited cities and a vibrant center of Hindu spirituality. Here, you’ll explore a tapestry of ancient temples, including the revered Kashi Vishwanath Jyotirlinga, and experience the powerful energy of the Ganga Ghats. Visit Sarnath, where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon, and end your evenings with the soul-stirring Ganga Aarti — a spectacle of light, sound, and devotion on the banks of the holy river. This tour is ideal for devotees, heritage seekers, and spiritual travelers looking to reconnect with India’s epic traditions, explore powerful pilgrimage sites, and experience a profound sense of inner peace and cultural insight.
Tour Highlights
Upon arrival at Ayodhya Airport or Railway Station, you will be warmly greeted by our representative who will assist you with the transfer to your hotel. After check-in and some time to freshen up, begin your spiritual journey with a visit to the grand Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir, a sacred site that marks the birthplace of Lord Ram and stands as a symbol of faith and devotion. The temple’s magnificence and spiritual aura provide a deeply moving experience. Next, proceed to Hanuman Garhi, one of Ayodhya’s most visited temples, perched on a small hill and offering panoramic views of the surrounding city. The temple is dedicated to Lord Hanuman, the ardent devotee of Lord Ram, and is believed to protect Ayodhya. Later, visit Kanak Bhawan, an exquisitely decorated temple that houses stunning idols of Lord Ram and Goddess Sita, said to be a gift from Kaikeyi to Sita. As the day winds down, take a peaceful walk along the Saryu River Ghats, where the gentle flow of the river and the calm spiritual atmosphere offer a perfect ending to your first day. Return to your hotel for overnight stay.
After breakfast at the hotel, continue exploring the spiritual treasures of Ayodhya. Begin the day with a visit to Kanak Bhawan (if not fully covered the previous day) to admire its serene surroundings and beautiful architecture. Proceed to Treta Ke Thakur, a revered site believed to be the location where Lord Ram conducted the Ashwamedha Yagna. The temple houses ancient idols of Lord Ram, Sita, Lakshman, Bharat, and Shatrughna, believed to date back to the Treta Yuga. Next, explore Sita Ki Rasoi, a symbolic site that represents Sita's kitchen and reflects the simple and graceful life of the divine couple. Despite its modest appearance, this place holds great emotional and spiritual value for devotees. Later in the day, visit Guptar Ghat, a tranquil riverside site believed to be where Lord Ram took Jal Samadhi, marking his divine departure to Vaikuntha. Surrounded by temples and peaceful scenery, it’s a place for quiet contemplation. In the evening, you may explore local shops for religious items or take another walk along the ghats. Return to your hotel for overnight stay.
After breakfast, check out from your hotel and begin your journey to Varanasi (approx. 4–5 hours drive). Enjoy the scenic countryside views as you transition from the city of Lord Ram to the city of Lord Shiva. Upon arrival in Varanasi, check in to your hotel and take some time to relax. In the evening, proceed to the iconic Dashashwamedh Ghat to witness the world-famous Ganga Aarti. This awe-inspiring spiritual ritual features chanting priests, rhythmic drumbeats, conch shells, and hundreds of oil lamps being offered to the sacred Ganges River. The spiritual energy during the Aarti is palpable and draws visitors from across the globe. You may opt for a boat ride on the river during the Aarti for an elevated perspective of this enchanting ceremony (at your own expense). After the Aarti, return to your hotel for overnight stay.
Start your day early with an optional Pind Daan or ritual ceremony along the ghats (arranged upon request). After breakfast, begin your full-day exploration of Varanasi’s sacred and cultural sites. First, visit the New Kashi Vishwanath Temple in the peaceful campus of Banaras Hindu University (BHU), known for its towering structure and spiritual tranquility. Then proceed to Kaudi Mata Temple, followed by Tulsi Manas Mandir, where verses from the Ramcharitmanas are inscribed on the walls — a place that connects literature with divinity. Continue to the revered Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple, believed to bring relief from troubles, and then visit Durga Mandir, a temple dedicated to the fierce form of the Goddess, known for its striking red color and sacred pond. In the afternoon, make an excursion to Sarnath, one of the holiest Buddhist sites in the world. Here, visit the Dhamek Stupa, Mulagandha Kuti Vihar, and the Sarnath Archaeological Museum, where you can witness remnants of the Mauryan and Gupta periods. Return to your hotel in the evening and relax after a spiritually fulfilling day.
After breakfast, check out from the hotel. Depending on your departure schedule, you may choose to explore any nearby temple, revisit the ghats for a morning walk, or enjoy an optional boat ride along the Ganges to see Varanasi come alive with sunrise rituals. Take a moment to absorb the unique spiritual energy that Varanasi is known for. Finally, you will be transferred to Varanasi Airport or Railway Station for your onward journey, carrying with you the divine blessings and serene memories of this transformative pilgrimage.
