Tour Highlights:
Upon your arrival at Rajkot Airport or Railway Station, you will be greeted by our driver who will assist you in beginning your journey towards Dwarka, one of the four sacred Char Dham pilgrimage sites of India. The drive from Rajkot to Dwarka is approximately 235 kilometers and takes around 4.5 to 5 hours, passing through scenic countryside roads dotted with small towns and glimpses of rural Gujarat. On reaching Dwarka, check in at your hotel and take some time to relax before heading out for your first spiritual experience. In the evening, visit the grand Dwarkadhish Temple, dedicated to Lord Krishna, an architectural marvel that rises proudly in the heart of the city with its towering spires. The temple is especially enchanting during the evening aarti, when chants, lights, and prayers create a deeply divine atmosphere. Afterward, take a serene walk by Dwarka Beach to enjoy the cool sea breeze and calm coastal views before returning to your hotel for an overnight stay.
After a wholesome breakfast, embark on a spiritual sightseeing tour around Dwarka. First, visit the Nageshwar Jyotirling Temple, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, renowned for its spiritual significance and the massive statue of Lord Shiva that graces the temple complex. Continue your journey to Gopi Talav, a peaceful lake that holds deep religious value as it is believed to be the place where Lord Krishna performed divine dances with the Gopis. Next, enjoy a short boat ride to reach Bet Dwarka, an island shrine said to have been the ancient residence of Lord Krishna. This temple is not just sacred but also offers panoramic views of the Arabian Sea. On return, stop at the Rukmini Devi Temple, which beautifully depicts the devotion of Rukmini, Krishna’s consort, through its simple yet elegant carvings. In the afternoon, drive to Porbandar (approx. 100 km / 2.5 hours), famously known as the birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi. Begin your exploration with a visit to Kirti Mandir, Gandhi’s ancestral house turned museum, followed by a visit to the Sudama Temple, one of the rare temples dedicated to Sudama, Lord Krishna’s childhood companion. Later in the evening, unwind at Chowpati Beach, where you can walk along the shore as the sun sets over the waves, offering a refreshing conclusion to your day. Spend the night at your hotel in Porbandar.
After breakfast, check out from your hotel and set out towards Somnath, which is approximately 135 km away and takes around 2.5 to 3 hours by road. Somnath is one of the most important pilgrimage sites in India, home to the first among the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel and begin your temple tour with a visit to the iconic Somnath Jyotirling Temple, an architectural masterpiece situated along the Arabian Sea. The temple’s serene setting and majestic history make it one of the most revered sites for devotees. Continue towards the Triveni Sangam Temple, a sacred confluence point of three rivers—Hiran, Kapila, and Saraswati—which is also considered the place where Lord Krishna is believed to have left his earthly body. Next, visit Bhalka Tirth, a deeply significant spot that marks the site where Lord Krishna was struck by an arrow, leading to the end of his earthly life. Also, explore the nearby Geeta Mandir, where verses from the Bhagavad Gita are inscribed on the temple walls, making it an enriching spiritual experience. In the evening, attend the light and sound show at the Somnath Temple, which uses an enchanting combination of narration, music, and lights to depict the temple’s fascinating history and legends. After a spiritually fulfilling day, return to your hotel for an overnight stay in Somnath.
After enjoying an early breakfast, check out from your hotel and begin your return drive to Rajkot, which is about 200 kilometers and takes approximately 4 to 5 hours. This journey brings your spiritual expedition in Gujarat to a close as you pass through the changing landscapes of villages, fields, and small towns of Saurashtra. Upon arrival in Rajkot, our driver will drop you comfortably at your Airport or Railway Station for your onward journey. With no sightseeing planned for this day, you can enjoy a relaxed departure without any rush, carrying home beautiful memories of your spiritual and cultural journey across Dwarka, Porbandar, and Somnath.
