The journey, approximately 440 kilometers, takes about 8 to 9 hours and passes through scenic rural landscapes of Gujarat filled with vibrant towns and countryside charm. Dwarka, one of the Char Dham pilgrimage destinations, is believed to be the ancient kingdom of Lord Krishna and holds deep spiritual significance for devotees. After checking in at your hotel and refreshing yourself, visit the holy Dwarkadhish Temple in the evening and participate in the evening aarti, which is an experience of devotion and divine energy. The temple’s grand architecture and spiritual aura make it one of the most significant religious landmarks in India. Later, spend some peaceful time by Gomti Ghat and cross Sudama Setu, which provides a beautiful riverside ambiance before returning to your hotel for an overnight stay.
After breakfast, begin your day by revisiting the Dwarkadhish Temple in the morning to witness rituals performed in the serene dawn atmosphere. Proceed for an excursion to Bet Dwarka, accessed by a short boat ride across the sea, which is said to have been Krishna’s residence during his rule. Continue to Nageshwar Jyotirling Temple, one of the twelve sacred Jyotirlingas dedicated to Lord Shiva, known for its spiritual significance and enormous Shiva statue. Visit Gopi Talav, a charming sacred pond associated with the gopis of Vrindavan, and later, explore the revered Rukmini Devi Temple, dedicated to Krishna’s beloved consort. Towards the evening, experience the scenic beauty of the Bhadkeshwar Mahadev Temple, uniquely located on a small rocky outcrop surrounded by the sea, and capture panoramic views of the coastline from the Dwarka Lighthouse before returning to your hotel.
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and begin your drive to Somnath, covering around 240 kilometers with a stop at Porbandar en route. Porbandar is famously known as the birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi. Visit Kirti Mandir, the ancestral house where Gandhi was born, now converted into a museum preserving photographs, belongings, and memorabilia of his early life. Then proceed to the Sudama Temple, a rare shrine dedicated to Sudama, the childhood friend of Lord Krishna, which reflects simplicity and devotion. Continue your journey further to reach Somnath, one of the most revered pilgrimage sites in India. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel, and later, in the evening, attend the mesmerizing aarti at Somnath Temple followed by the spectacular Sound and Light Show, which narrates the historical and spiritual glory of the temple. End the day with a peaceful overnight stay in Somnath.
Following breakfast, embark on a spiritual journey through Somnath’s revered temples and historic sites. Begin your day with a visit to Bhalka Tirth, where Lord Krishna is believed to have been struck by an arrow, marking the conclusion of his incarnation on earth. Next, proceed to Triveni Sangam, the sacred confluence of the Hiran, Kapila, and Saraswati rivers with the Arabian Sea, a site regarded as highly auspicious for performing rituals and prayer.
