Overview

Embark on a mesmerizing odyssey across the enchanting landscapes of Rajasthan, where every step unfolds stories of emperors, deserts, sacred waters, and vibrant culture. Your adventure begins in the regal city of Jaipur — the “Pink City” — where majestic forts rise above bustling bazaars, and the echoes of royal processions linger in palace corridors. You’ll then travel through the spiritual heart of the state, visiting Ajmer, home to the revered Dargah of Khwaja Moinuddin, and the sacred town of Pushkar with its lakeside ghats and the rare Brahma Temple — a place where faith and folklore intertwine. As you press westward, arrive in Jodhpur, the storied “Blue City”, where hill-top forts peer over cobalt-toned homes and royal palaces stand as guardians of heritage. Finally, experience the golden enchantment of Jaisalmer, perched in the heart of the vast Thar Desert — a living fort city, camel-scapes at sunset, and the silhouettes of sand dunes under starlit skies. This journey weaves together history, spirituality, architecture and desert magic into one seamless tapestry of Rajasthan’s best — an immersive, culturally rich route designed to leave you with memories of color, sand, song and heritage that linger far beyond your return home.

Tour Highlights

  • Delve into Jaipur’s grandeur with visits to the royal palaces, timeless forts and the iconic Hawa Mahal and Jantar Mantar.
  • Experience the spiritual essence of Ajmer at the revered Ajmer Sharif Dargah, a shrine visited by pilgrims of all faiths.
  • Visit the sacred Brahma Temple, Pushkar near the holy Pushkar Lake — one of the very few temples dedicated to Lord Brahma in India.
  • Discover Jodhpur’s mighty Mehrangarh Fort overlooking the blue cityscape, and explore royal residences like the Umaid Bhawan Palace.
  • Arrive in Jaisalmer, the Golden City, for a sightseeing tour of the fabled Jaisalmer Fort (Sonar Quila) — a “living fort” built in 1156 AD.
  • Visit historic havelis in Jaisalmer, enjoy a camel safari and sunset over the Thar Desert at Sam Sand Dunes.
  • Traverse varied terrains — from the vibrant cities to the quiet desert — while immersing in Rajasthan’s culture, architecture and natural beauty.
  • Visit the sacred Dargah at Ajmer and explore the ancient ghats and temple-complexes of Pushkar — a unique combination of spirituality and cultural heritage.
  • Traverse Jaisalmer’s resplendent fort (sonar-kella) and experience a desert sunset with a camel ride at the Sam Sand Dunes, immersing yourself in the magic of the Thar Desert.

Itinerary

Upon your arrival at Jaipur Airport or Railway Station, our driver will greet you warmly and assist with your transfer to the hotel. After check-in, take some time to relax and settle in. Jaipur, known as the “Pink City,” is celebrated for its royal heritage, colorful markets, and architectural marvels. In the evening, you may opt to visit the serene Laxminarayan Temple (Birla Mandir), built with pure white marble and offering panoramic views of the city. Later, enjoy an optional visit to Chokhi Dhani, a traditional Rajasthani village-style resort that offers folk dances, camel rides, puppet shows, and a traditional Rajasthani dinner. This immersive cultural experience is a great way to begin your Rajasthan journey. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay in Jaipur.

After breakfast, begin a full day of sightseeing in Jaipur. Start your tour with a visit to the magnificent Amber Fort, located on a hilltop, offering grand courtyards, historic chambers, and scenic views. En route, take a brief stop at the Gaitore Cenotaphs, a peaceful site with beautifully carved marble memorials of Jaipur’s royalty. Continue to Jal Mahal, a palace floating in the middle of Man Sagar Lake—ideal for photography. Visit the famous Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds), known for its intricate latticework and historic design. Proceed to the City Palace & Museum, which showcases the royal family’s heritage through art and artifacts. Conclude your day with a visit to Jantar Mantar, an ancient astronomical observatory and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the evening, explore Jaipur’s local bazaars, perfect for shopping traditional jewelry, textiles, and handicrafts. Overnight stay at your hotel.

After breakfast and check-out, begin your journey from Jaipur to Jodhpur, covering a total distance of approximately 370 kilometers (7–8 hours), with en-route visits to the holy cities of Ajmer and Pushkar. Your first stop is Ajmer, where you can visit the revered Ajmer Sharif Dargah, a prominent Sufi shrine dedicated to Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti. Continue to Pushkar, one of the oldest cities in India, known for the sacred Brahma Temple—one of the few temples dedicated to Lord Brahma in the world—and the tranquil Pushkar Lake surrounded by ghats. After exploring these spiritual towns, resume your drive to Jodhpur, the Blue City of Rajasthan. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and relax for the evening. You may explore the vibrant Clock Tower Market or unwind at the hotel. Overnight stay in Jodhpur.

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and proceed for a half-day sightseeing tour of Jodhpur. Begin with a visit to the massive Mehrangarh Fort, perched high above the city, known for its commanding views, intricate carvings, and historic artifacts. Just below the fort lies Jaswant Thada, a beautifully constructed white marble cenotaph built in memory of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II. Also visit the Umaid Bhawan Palace Museum, part of one of the largest private residences in the world, offering a glimpse into royal life. Post sightseeing, drive to Jaisalmer, the Golden City of Rajasthan, located approximately 285 kilometers from Jodhpur (5–6 hours drive). On arrival, check in at your hotel and spend the evening at leisure. Overnight stay in Jaisalmer.

After breakfast, begin your sightseeing tour of Jaisalmer. Visit the awe-inspiring Jaisalmer Fort (Sonar Quila), one of the few living forts in the world, where people still reside within its walls. Explore its narrow lanes, temples, and ancient havelis like Patwon Ki Haveli, Nathmal Ki Haveli, and Salim Singh Ki Haveli, known for their intricate stone carvings and architecture. Visit Gadisar Lake, a peaceful historic reservoir surrounded by temples and shrines. In the afternoon, head out to the Sam Sand Dunes, located about 40 kilometers from the city. Here, you will check in at your desert camp and experience the magic of the Thar Desert. Enjoy a camel safari, watch the sunset over the dunes, and later indulge in an evening of folk music and dance around a bonfire, followed by a traditional Rajasthani dinner. Overnight stay at the desert camp in Jaisalmer.

After a wholesome breakfast and completing your check-out formalities, you will be comfortably transferred by our private cab to Jodhpur Railway Station or Airport. As you journey onward, take with you the unforgettable memories of the golden sands of Jaisalmer, its majestic forts, and the vibrant desert culture you’ve experienced. Prepare to embrace the royal charm of Jodhpur, the Blue City, as you continue your incredible Rajasthan adventure.

Good

We recently booked a 7-day/6-night tour package with Colors of India for the Delhi–Rishikesh–Manali trip, and it turned out to be an amazing experience! A big shoutout to Mr. Rohit shokta, who meticulously organized the trip and ensured everything went smoothly. One incident that stood out was when I lost my bag during the trip. Mr. Rohit went above and beyond to help me recover it from the place it was left behind. His genuine care and prompt action were truly commendable. The trip itself was fantastic! I traveled with my parents to show them snow-capped peaks for the very first time, and they had an absolute blast. They explored and enjoyed every moment of the journey. We covered around 2500 kilometers by car, but thanks to our incredibly kind and professional driver, we never felt tired. His driving skills and hospitality added to the comfort and joy of our journey. Thank you, Colors of India, for making this trip so memorable, especially during the peak season of late December and New Year. The package was not only affordable but also exceeded our expectations in every way. Highly recommended! 🌟
